Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, May 10, 2026.

Where today’s newsletter, wishing the happiest of Mother’s Days to all the moms out there, is brought to you by NJ Transit.

Gotta love a train from the NJ shore to NYC that shows up 30 minutes late and then totally loses power 15 minutes later.

So, a special ❤️ to my mom for helping me get to the ferry to NYC instead, which was thankfully right on time (and did not lose power at sea 🙏). Moms are the best.

AND: Movie theater chains like AMC and CINEMARK have agreed to lower ticket prices for SONY’s family comedy The Breadwinner later this month, per a new IG post from Nate Bargatze.

  • Looking like extending matinee pricing at AMC, and as much as 25% off at CINEMARK, but details will vary by theater.

GOOD NEWS: David Ellison is getting more money! Efficiencies be damned . . . as the what the fuckery in 2020s Hollywood executive greed continues unabated — the PSKY CEO will get $50M in cash and $100M in restricted stock (RSUs) after the WARNAMOUNT deal closes.

  • PSKY COO Andy Gordon gets $15M cash / $23M RSUs
  • CLO Makan Delrahim gets $12.5M cash / $12.5M RSUs
  • These people still work in the “dying” TV and movie business, right? Or did we start AI bots, and no one told me?

YAH: MRBEAST is negotiating with IATSE about a union contract, after some crew members on season 3 of Beast Games in North Carolina began organizing with the crew union. Welcome to Hollywood, Jimmy.

AH: The WGA West has a ratified agreement with its staff union, ending a 3-month standoff.

WELL: BUZZFEED missed a $5M debt payment at the end of April, but secured a last-minute extension from the lender (with a $500k fee put on top) until May 18.

ALSO: DISNEY is actively engaging back with the FCC in the D’Amaro era, claiming it’s stifling DISNEY’s First Amendment rights . . . essentially telling FCC czar Brendan Carr to put up or shut up about his pressure on The View regarding “equal opportunity” booking of political guests, and thus threatened pressure on local broadcast TV stations overall.

UH HUH: In a move that couldn’t embody the Trump ethos better — TRUTH SOCIAL’s parent company (TRUMP MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY GROUP) reported Q1 revenues of $871k and a net loss of $405M. But, ya know, he’s really a good businessman.

  • The $1M-per-quarter revenue company has a market cap of $2.5B. Sure.
  • OH: The company’s merger with a . . . nuclear fusion company should close this summer.
