This week, I’m following the money behind two major overall-deal shakeups, the likes we haven’t seen in a few years: Quinta Brunson’s exit from Warner Bros. TV for Disney and Ryan Coogler’s move from Disney to Netflix. One was pushed along by uncertainty over who will ultimately run Warners. The other shows how even elite producers are being re-priced in a post-Peak TV market.

I’m also reading the tea leaves on the studio rebrands and reorganizations happening inside Disney and NBCUniversal — what’s real, what’s cosmetic and what it says about where development is actually headed. And because we all deserve nice things, I end with a plea for more ice-skating romance onscreen, preferably with horny hockey hunks.
