Where once again AI just seems to be copying the internet 1.0 era from 25 years ago.
According to Bloomberg, some summer interns in the banking world have been spending their magical summer months essentially explaining AI to their parents.
Yes, the intern pool remit at some banks has included making presentations to execs about how to better utilize AI — and, of course, building AI bots to help replace them everyone be more efficient.
But having AI do things like typical grunt-work presentation prep has upsides for some — while intern counts may now be lower, those getting the positions seem to be getting more responsibility.
What’s that? Um, no . . . the grueling banking interns’ hours at the office are not diminished. Keep on dreaming, 4-day work-week crowd!

OH: NETFLIX got 1.7M viewers for its MLB Field of Dreams game last week between the PHILLIES and TWINS, which was a 7-1 blowout.
- FOX got 3.1M the last time it aired in 2022, with the CUBS and REDS.
- Last year’s Speedway Classic, held at an auto racing track, got 1.6M viewers on FOX (although rain affected things).
- The Opening Day game on NETFLIX got 3M viewers, featuring the more popular YANKEES and GIANTS.
THEN: SXSW is adding a Podcast fest to its Movie, TV and Music festivities.
PLUS: MS NOW has revealed details for its subscription program, which will include “24/7 access to live streams and television programming” for $8 a month or $80 a year. It’ll launch on Sept. 9.
- CNN charges $7 a month for its product, and FOX NATION is $9 a month.
- MS NOW will also hold an MS NOW Live: Together In Texas event on Sept. 26 with its leading talent.
