Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on TUESDAY November 22, 2022.
Where day 2 of our 2020’s equivalent of the 2010’s “Tonight Show” NBC debacle (is #TeamChapek trending yet?) continues with more developments & revelations last night.
Although if Bob Iger owes you money (did he pull the “Sorry, I only carry Disney Dollars…” line when you split a cab with him too? 🙄), it may be time to get on that, as Iger is going to have to somehow get by on a $1 Million a year salary.
Well, plus a $1 Million annual bonus. And, $25 Million in restricted stock grants. Huh. That’s the same deal I have. Weird.
PLUS: They’re back! The great Streaming discounts of late Summer have been replaced by Black Friday season 🤑… with WBD kicking things off - get HBOMAX for $2 a month for 3 months, and DISCO+ for $1 a month for 3 months (both ad-supported) thru Nov 28.
AND: USA NETWORK star Todd Chrisley got 12 years in federal prison for tax evasion & bank fraud, and his wife Julie got 7 years, despite a letter from their WME agent Lee White, whose wife the Chrisleys helped get treatment for cancer, in which he said “We need more role models in our communities like this, not less.”
The prosecutors… had a different take: “Their ’empire’ was built upon the backs of defrauded community banks that collapsed while Todd Chrisley used the stolen money to fly to Los Angeles for bi-weekly haircuts.”
