☀️ HULU’s Huge June Spending Bender

UNI’s next ‘Shrek’ plan / ‘HOTD’ scores big for HBO / NBC wants more Hanks ‘Americas’

Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Where this has to fall into the “There’s Gotta Be A Movie In Here Somewhere . . .” category.

A 3-year-old giraffe named Gracie escaped her enclosure at Cedar Hollow Ranch in the Texas Hill Country and . . . no one’s been able to find her for 2 weeks now.

Personally, I’d keep a close eye on Franklin BBQ after closing.

Now she’s just taunting us. Via Giphy

ALSO: In news good for FOX ROKU, the price of the APPLE TV streaming device went up 54% this week to $200 as part of APPLE’s overall #pricehikes.

YAH: The number of comments on the FCC’s website regarding DISNEY’s O&O TV license renewals is up to nearly 54k, each of which I’m sure Brendan Carr will ignore with equal fervor. I assume if most of the comments were against The View, he’d be reacting to them in exactly the same way.

YEAH: The internet was having a lotta fun with this one last night. #90sRule.

THEN: UNI is going old school with its screening rollout for The Odyssey. After the July 6 London premiere, it’ll screen for professional critics, but there won’t be screenings for bloggers / ‘social influencers.’

PLUS: Supergirl started with $13M in Thursday screenings box office globally, around what Disclosure Day had ($12M).

  • Supergirl did $7.8M in the U.S., above Disclosure Day’s $6.5M (it went on to a $44.5M opening weekend).

AH: Wet Hot American Summer is coming back in theaters from FOCUS on Aug. 14 to make us all marvel at how young everyone looks, and make us consider our own lives accordingly.

THANKS!: To the folks at NETFLIX for the invite to check out the Enola Holmes 3 premiere in NYC last night, where I was about 23 years above the median age in the room — exactly how it should be.

Always fun to solve mysteries in Malta, and some very fun moments to watch in a room full of fans.

HULU is the place to pitch your TV show in June

I’m kinda out of jokes to make about how much HULU is buying this month, as the DISNEY streamer picked up yet another show for development yesterday.

This is on top of a summer 2026 buying spree at HULU where I’m kinda surprised I haven’t sold a show there yet. Check out this ledger.
