Evenin! Here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, Nov. 1, 2026.
Where I hope you all are well rested . . . as we sit in the dark at 5 p.m. today. Great tradeoff, everybody!
KUDOS: To the WNBA’s GOLDEN STATE VALKYRIES for winning the 7-game WNBA Finals series against the ATLANTA DREAM.
AND: IMAX’s latest move to fill out its pre-holiday roster — bringing both Dune pics back to screens Nov. 13 for a double-feature event, and then screening on their own through Nov. 18. Exclusive footage from Part Three will accompany the films.
OH: Obamacare exchange health insurance prices are going up an average of 13% for 2027 . . . and if you have healthcare through your employer — they’re likely taking their increased costs out of your wage increases. See y’all at the polls Tuesday!
AH: If you want to sit next to Bob Iger at LAKERS games and talk team ownership strategy — it’ll cost you at least $250M, as that’s the minimum buy-in for minority stakes being offered by Iger & Kushner.
- AND: It sounds like the guys are really starting to hit the “hustle” stage, as Bill Simmons claimed Thursday on his pod that the duo is still about $5B to $6B short in terms of finding investors at the $12.5B valuation they cut a deal for.
- He also said Iger is only in for “like $63M.”
PLUS: Director Michael Mann had a minor injury when a gun he was holstering at a shooting range in L.A. accidentally fired and hit him this weekend.
