Marvel announced at Comic-Con — sound the trumpets — that in February 2023, the Cinematic Universe will officially move to Phase 5!
Phase 4, we hardly knew ye. But let’s face it, as Cinematic Universe Phases go, Phase 4 was no Phase 3.
The question of what distinguishes one Phase from another is above my pay grade. If you’re curious, throw out the question on Twitter and a few million people will be happy to explain in 57-Tweet threads why The Eternals are clearly children of Phase 4 and The Thunderbolts could flourish nowhere but Phase 5.
