Happy May, Series Business readers.

It’s refreshing to see that Disney has not taken any action against Jimmy Kimmel following the latest outcries from the Trump administration for the late-night host to be fired — and the move by Brendan Carr’s FCC to launch an early review of ABC’s station licenses . Nexstar and its station groups, too, have remained mum as they try to keep the boat steady amid an attempted $6.2 billion merger with rival Tegna.

In today’s TV in 3: Amazon was at one point so hell-bent on exploiting its $8.45 billion investment in MGM that execs discussed rebooting The Apprentice — with Don Jr. as a potential host and I have all the background scoop. Also there’s only a month left to sneak onto the midyear best-of lists — will any of the numerous May premieres break through as the Emmy eligibility window closes?  Rounding things out, I’ve got a fun trip down memory lane with Greg Berlanti, Billy Porter and Zach Braff about one of my favorite movies (that helped launch all three of their careers).

Let’s get into it.
