The summer of stasis continues as Hollywood holds its breath and waits for the final word from SAG. The results will mark the kick-off of Phase II of the writers strike, for better or worse, depending on where you sit.
Today I will walk through scenarios of different paths this can go down, paths that will (unfortunately) lead to even more crossroads:
Fran Drescher’s 90-second video in full military regalia (is this the official SAG President’s uniform?) seemed a blow to those who hoped the actors would follow the writers out to the street. But as Drescher and negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland noted, there’s a long way to go here before the closing bell in order to achieve what they promise will be a “seminal deal.”
So to cover my bases, the actors could go one of two ways:
They can go on strike.
