Scottie Scheffler joined that group today, convincingly winning the British Open Championship in Northern Ireland on NBC, about a month after turning 29.
He also became just the 4th player to shoot a 68 or under in the tournament in all 4 rounds, or essentially the score I try to stay under during 9 holes of golf.
WELL: Gotta love the Trump billion-dollar lawsuit trend continuing . . . but this time it’s a $10B suit against Rupert Murdoch’s WSJ around that Epstein story from the end of last week (Rupert is also personally named in the lawsuit).
BUT: His lawsuit against PARAMOUNT GLOBAL, SIMON & SCHUSTER and Bob Woodward claiming copyright and contract interest in audio recordings used in the 2022 The Trump Tapes audiobook was thrown out by a judge.
AND: David Ellison had a sit-down with FCC Chair Brendan Carr last week on Tuesday. He had a lot of questions about the MI:8 plot.
THEN: WALMART announced that its VIZIO TVs will now only be sold at its locations (and its SAM’S CLUB business).
ALSO: MONCLAIR FILM is taking over the 3-screen The Bellevue Theater in Montclair, NJ, and will re-open its doors by the time of the Monclair Film Festival this fall.
PLUS: If you’re curious about how much UFC fights pull in — the #318 fight event at the SMOOTHIE KING CENTER in NOLA brought in a smidge over $8M in ticket sales on Saturday (the highest grossing event ever at that location, according to the UFC).
