Oddly, I don’t recall the courtside seats for the THUNDER / T’WOLVES series in Minneapolis having quite as many luminaries last night . . . but uh, hey, maybe the CEO of TARGET was there! 😱

But, I’m sure the shift to Indianapolis tonight will only help the KNICKS’ fortunes. 🥴 Let’s see how many celebs fly the PJs to visit Indiana on a Sunday night. 🛩️

POD RECO: I was behind in getting to this recent Channels pod from Peter Kafka that others have recommended — so now I’m joining the chorus.

One of the smartest conversations about the business of APPLE that you’re likely to hear (and no, it has nothing to do with APPLE TV+ . . . just like APPLE’s revenues). It also touches on key larger implications for the U.S. economy and workforce in general.

While it was recorded before Trump’s 25% APPLE tax threat on Friday — it’s even more of an insightful listen as to what’s going on there and why (SPOTIFY here).

FINALLY: Sending a sincere thanks to those who serve and have served in America’s military in advance of Memorial Day tomorrow, and to their families for the sacrifices continually made on our country’s behalf as well.

While taking 6 months away from your family to go shoot a movie in another part of the world is one thing, making a career choice that involves taking a 6-month deployment to a combat war zone is another — and the ability to do one is very related to some folks choosing to do the other — so it’s important to keep those folks in mind in the thanks that the town gives out as well.

🎥 THE BOX OFFICE

These are Fri-Sun totals only (as I usually do), as Monday estimates are just that — estimates (and the East Coast should finally have a sunny day tomorrow 😎, so we’ll see what the does for moviegoing).

But all indications are for a record weekend when all is said and done (which I will update on Tuesday), and I’ll also note — that’s with Hollywood providing a very diverse slate of pics in the Top 10:

• Kids/Family, Action, Horror, Superhero, Period pic / likely Oscar race contender, Western and . . . somehow even Comedy! How’d that get in there.

So, here are the numbers to know, starting with a needed jolt to the DISNEY ‘25 film slate so far.
