In 2010, HBO debuted the first modern streaming service, HBO Go. Thirteen years later, and for the first time since, the iconic HBO moniker will not headline the title of a platform: WBD’s streaming offering will soon go by a single moniker, Max. Sean McNulty, Elaine Low and Richard Rushfield are joined by Sonny Bunch to debate whether this is a clever move to court new subscribers or a misguided abdication of a brand that signifies quality (and, possibly snobbery).
