Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, September 29, 2024.
Where even though it’s been cloudy and raining all weekend in NYC . . . something about today just feels brighter than usual. 🤔
Oh right! The GIANTS already lost on Thursday. Very considerate. JETS — way to carry on the NYC NFL offensive ineptitude today with another field goal parade leading to a loss.
PLUS: AMAZON is in talks with Brian Williams to helm a live election-night coverage event, because the other 11 TV news outlets doing the same thing just won’t get the right nuance. 🤌
AND: The Teamsters and the AMPTP have reached a tentative new agreement — this of course just 2 days after being “far apart” on some key matters. Way to keep it on brand, y’all!
THEN: Governor Newsom vetoed the AI safety bill that came to his desk and could have laid the path for AI regulation in other states, citing an interest in seeking more encompassing rules.
OH: Yeah, the CHICAGO WHITE SOX ⚾️ ran out of good luck marriage proposals, and lost on Friday night, giving the club the worst record in MLB history. Although they won their last 2 games of the year this weekend so . . . there’s always next year.
REST IN PEACE: Goes out to John Ashton, 76, who died on Thursday after a battle with cancer, and certainly holds a special place in the heart of any '80s movie fans.
