This is Rob Long with Martini Shot for The Ankler.

Let me start this in the most show business way there is. With a promotional announcement.

The Ankler, which is the home of Martini Shot, just launched The Ladder, a members-only hub for early career entertainment professionals. Membership includes a discounted Ankler subscription, exclusive events, merch, AMAs with Ankler staff, and more. Our first event is on November 3rd at The Bell House in Brooklyn. To apply, go to The Ankler.

But I had to look up what AMA meant, because, you know, it could be anything. But what it means — and I’m not even embarrassed that I didn’t know — is Ask Me Anything sessions, where I guess people can ask anything on their minds. But if I can, I’d like to turn it around and ask something myself, of the group who is joining The Ladder, early career entertainment industry professionals, which I guess means young people trying to break into show business. And here’s my question:

What are you thinking? Why are you doing this? Don’t you read The Ankler? Show business is falling apart. You missed it. You missed the bonanza years.

Let me tell you a story.
