Lynne Segall Joins Ankler Media as Publisher
The star entertainment media exec to lead sales and revenue strategy amid explosive growth
Lynne Segall, a transformational leader in entertainment publishing and sales, has joined Ankler Media in an expansion of its business side, in the newly created role of publisher, reporting to CEO and editor in chief Janice Min.
As publisher, Segall will holistically guide sales and revenue strategy for Ankler Media, including direct advertising, live events, podcasts, video, and the continued growth of its core subscription newsletter business, partnering with head of sales London Sanders.
Ankler Media has reached new heights since its inception in 2022, with 43% subscriber growth and 140% growth in sponsorship, event and advertising revenue through 2025, and social audience exceeding 800% in year-over-year growth. The company’s event business, launched in 2024, hosted more than 50 events in 2025, including high-level activations alongside Web Summit, Cannes Lions, NAB Show and the Toronto International Film Festival. Most recently, the buzzy Ankler Invitational welcomed dozens of top industry executives and talent for a spirited tennis tournament on January 10 in L.A.
In 2025, Ankler Media also debuted Ankler Studios with its original series, “Main Character,” featuring Joel Edgerton and Renate Reinsve, "Under the Hood" for F1 and Apple Original Films, and impactful programs with clients including Amazon, FX, HBO, Netflix, MTV, Peacock, Disney and Universal Pictures.
On the audio front, Ankler’s expanded suite of podcasts brought in more than 1 million downloads in 2025.
Previously, Segall served as executive vice president and group publisher of The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard, where she and Min led a remarkable editorial and commercial reinvention of the brands. During her tenure at The Hollywood Reporter, the publication experienced dynamic advertising growth across platforms, including major increases in consumer, luxury, and lifestyle advertising.
Segall also created the widely recognized, high-wattage Women in Entertainment breakfast, an industry-leading event. At Billboard, Segall drove significant revenue growth through industry event partnerships and Grammy special issues. (Ankler Media talent includes several foundational Hollywood Reporter stars from that storied era including Jennifer Laski, Kelsey Stefanson, Lesley Goldberg, Natalie Jarvey, Ashley Cullins and executive editor Alison Brower).

Segall most recently was chief revenue officer at The Wrap, leading direct sales, where she expanded the company’s awards and video business portfolio and launched the successful Showrunners and Creators of Emmy Season Breakfast and Power List.
Earlier in her career, Segall was vice president of entertainment advertising at the Los Angeles Times, where she built their entertainment sales strategy and helped launch The Envelope.
She was inducted into the Media Industry Newsletter’s Sales Hall of Fame in 2016.
“I could not be more delighted to be partnering with Lynne again. She and London Sanders are, bar none, the best business duo in town,” said Min. “With her deep understanding of Hollywood and the broader entertainment community, and her proven track record of scaling businesses across platforms, Lynne will add fuel to our already record growth and enable both the edit team and London’s team to move faster as we continue our roll-out of exciting new offerings this year. Stay tuned.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Ankler Media and to be working with Janice again,” said Segall. “She is a visionary leader and force in media who has revitalized iconic brands. She and Richard Rushfield have built a top-tier news organization that has earned respect in a few short years. With exceptional reporters and editors and franchises like the wildly popular Prestige Junkie, Series Business and The Wakeup, and with their focus on emerging markets, such as the creator economy and AI, brands and live events, Ankler Media is uniquely positioned at a moment to continue ownership of the industry’s rapid transformation. I look forward to building the business with London Sanders’ strong leadership and identifying new ways to continue the company’s incredible growth, adding value for readers and advertisers.”
Segall will begin her role at the end of January.
