Meet Strikegeist, Our New Strike Newsletter
Brace yourself. The next few weeks and months may be bumpy
For the past several months, we’ve used all sorts of descriptors and adjectives to talk about the strike: Looming, pending, anticipated, possible.
Now, with 15 years passed since the last strike by the WGA, it seems almost inevitable another one is days away.
We know during times like this, information and analysis can be hard to come by. We also know many of you will have pictures, videos, thoughts and tips you’d like to share during what likely will shape up to be one of the most significant moments of the modern entertainment era.
In order to keep tabs on a fast-moving situation, we are announcing Strikegeist, our new FREE standalone newsletter dedicated to coverage over the coming weeks if and when a strike occurs. The whole community is invited to follow our coverage and participate. The full Ankler team will be on board writing and contributing, and we hope you will too.
We invite you to sign up for Strikegeist here (it is SEPARATE from The Ankler), and to send us your story suggestions, ideas and news at strike@theankler.com.
Some quick housekeeping:
Being an Ankler subscriber will not automatically sign you up for Strikegeist.
Of course, we are writers too and would appreciate anyone who can afford to support our work as a paid subscriber. But none of Strikegeist’s content will be behind a paywall at launch.
The Ankler will continue to publish its own separate newsletters and podcasts about the potential strike and its repercussions. Please subscribe if you haven’t.
Again, write us at strike@theankler.com. We’ll also be using Notes to communicate with our Strikegeist community.
