☀️CHARTER #CordCutting Up, Growth Stuck, Stock Plummets
Movie project momentum continues / AMAZON content spend increases in 2023 / DISNEY India sale details emerge
Mornin’! This is Sean McNulty (connect here on LINKED-IN if ya like) and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on FRIDAY Feb. 2, 2023.
Where, good news! It’s finally going to (literally) pay to own META stock. It’s issuing its first-ever stock dividend in Q1 of $0.50 a share. So, finally Eduardo Saverin catches a break (fyi if you were curious like me - he’s now worth nearly $20 Billion and lives in Singapore).
Then again, when you ax 22% of your workforce in a year #realnumber, that generally frees up some cash.
One of the biggest beneficiaries of the new META dividend? Zuck! He’ll reportedly be getting $700 Million a year from this new dividend policy alone. Or about 26X his 2022 executive comp package. Sure it’ll go to a good cause… on the construction of his Hawaiian apocalyptic bunker estate.
AND: Enjoy reading today’s newsletter on your new APPLE VISION PROs, which hit the market today — it really captures the essence of the gifs 🤌.
ALSO: The DISNEY annual shareholder meeting/Peltz showdown will be April 3. The DISNEY board members that Nelson would like to show the door? Michael B.G. Froman and Maria Elena Lagomasino
