In the wake of the writers strike conclusion, many were expecting a mass rush of deal announcements. But this past week has been… largely average? The actors strike ongoing is one cause, but worry remains that studios are accelerating the programming pullback that began earlier this year. “A big theme I’m hearing from a lot of studio people is that the bar for a greenlight has just gotten much, much higher in the last few months,” says Richard Rushfield, who joins Sean McNulty and Elaine Low to evaluate the worrisome post-strike landscape.
