Barbenheimer aside, summer’s movies seem to have melted into one big blurred memory (did Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse really only happen in June?!). But Sean McNulty, Elaine Low and Richard Rushfield, who, after making a number of bold box office predictions at Memorial Day, kept score and return to talk about the titles — whether Flash-es in the pan, dogs (yes that includes Strays) or turnarounds (Elemental) — that took in $4 billion stateside. Meanwhile, the trio dish out a few awards, and crown one winning workhorse studio with the highest return on summer movie investments.
