☀️ Q3 Cable Bundle lost near 1 Mil with more ahead; GIRLS5EVA revived at NETFLIX
FOX Fall Ad rates plummet / DIS+ sets new NIELSEN record / AMAZON predicts Q4 clouds
Mornin! This is Sean McNulty and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on FRIDAY October 28, 2022.
Where PARAMOUNT’s PLUTO is launching 2 channels of 24-7 burning fireplaces, and 1 channel of 24-7 holiday lights just in time for the holiday season… so if those Q4 “minutes viewed” numbers take a big bump, well - always good to look up the chimney.
SIDE NOTE: Richard can we sponsor the “Crackling Fireplace” channel?? Not sure if we can afford the “Festive Fireplace”. Plus Crackling seems more on brand - And… word around town is that’s the underdog to pull ahead on the NIELSEN Streaming chart come mid December. #TeamCrackling
OH! AND: Ankler CEO Janice Min was a guest on one of my favorite pods - RECODE MEDIA with Peter Kafka, links to listen here.
ALSO: First the sink, now Elon officially has the keys to TWITTER. Damn shame it’s now a private company… that earnings call woulda been a hoot.
AAAAANNND… he’s already fired the CEO, CFO, and top 2 Legal execs. I mean if there’s one thing Elon knows, is that he doesn’t need knowledgeable Legal advice.
HUH: Funny how the tone changes when you, ya know, now own the place: “…it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence.” Yeah, bots can be ruthless.
PLUS: AMAZON PRIME is adding LeBron James to Thursday Night Football… at least in an alt-Manningcast style feed, doing a version of “The Shop” with LeBron James and Maverick Carter and “Shop” co-creator Paul Rivera welcoming special guests, feed will launch on the Nov 17 game.
FRIDAY Wakeup BOX OFFICE POLL: Who’s gonna rule the “Black Adam” weekend 2 drop amount - the critics (40%), or the audience scores (90%)?
