This week I’m joined by Ken Harbaugh, the producer of Against All Enemies, to discuss his new documentary about the high numbers of military and police personnel attracted to extremist groups like the Oath Keepers. How did so many end up at the vanguard of the mob on January 6th? And what role do lies about elections play in radicalizing this cohort? We also discuss the film’s glowing reception at Tribeca and the work that goes into getting a documentary like this not only produced but also distributed. New Doc Reveals How Vets Are Recruited by Militias
I could only stand about an hour of this before I had to leave the theater. It’s necessary reporting AND I felt terrorized sitting in a dark room listening to domestic terrorists who see ME as an enemy because I don’t conform to or support their Christo-fascist ideals.
Big-screen close up lust for the blood of Capitol Police was the last straw for me. I couldn’t stand being in the company of these terrorists while they beat police and I got up and left the theater, texting my companion that I’d meet in the lobby. Should have left sooner. I know what they think and the racist roots of their hate. Didn’t need to listen to them justifying their crimes or watch them commit those crimes. But it’s important to have this record.
