Inside the Era of Bob Iger 2.0

Disney’s power struggle with cable TV provider Charter was just the latest in a series of challenges faced by CEO Bob Iger since Nov. 2022, when he seized the reins from his ousted, hand-picked replacement, Bob Chapek. CNBC’s Alex Sherman, who has reported extensively on the failed succession plan, joins The Wakeup’s Sean McNulty to discuss the new Iger era, including the disintegration of his inner circle, Iger’s exit strategy options and the search for a new heir apparent. “Bob Chapek tried to make bold decisions and… change the Disney culture, and he was a Disney employee for 30 years and he could not do it,” says Sherman.
