Fortunately I recorded it so I had no trouble fast forwarding through that "comedian" they hired as the MC. Had I been there, I might have gotten purposely drunk enough to yell out "When do you start being funny??!!!"

Thank god I had Downton Abbey II to watch afterwards. At least those people had fun making their movie.

I remember telling you a few years ago that I thought the town would be just fine without the Globes, and you seemed a little more on the side of "They'll fix it!" at that point.

They won't fix it. And this endless awards season will only become more of a drag every year.

Remember when awards shows and red carpets were fun, especially the Globes? Deep sigh….

It’s fun when you attend, but the home audience hadn’t been their chief focus until recently.

To me, the Globes were never fun or interesting. The AAs were great back in the 1970s when it was your only chance to see movie stars outside of their films. When Ryan Reynolds is doing phone ads on You Tube and Ryan Gosling is doing skits with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, watching the Academy Awards is less than compelling.

Closer to Bud Light than RC Cola.
