Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, September 15, 2024.
Where the NY GIANTS now have the same record this season as the team that was one game away from the Super Bowl last year (BALTIMORE RAVENS), and the team that was one win away in 2022 (CINCINNATI BENGALS).
Unfortunately, that record is 0-2.
AND: Obviously the Emmys are ongoing here tonight — the list of winners will update at this link if helpful. PLUS: The TIFF Audience Award reinforced that this Oscar season has no frontrunner . . . and will likely be a year of surprises, as the people gave it to Tom Hiddleston’s The Life of Chuck from Mike Flanagan, based on a Stephen King novella, set in a crumbling world that is told in 3 chapters — in reverse. The pic still doesn’t have a U.S. distributor.
NETFLIX’s Emilia Pérez and NEON’s Anora were the two runners-up.
THEN: 60 Minutes started off the season with a banger tonight — highly recommend.
