I find your commentators out of touch and over confidently ill-informed especially regarding black creatives, their work and their impact.
Not only was BLACK PANTHER “in the running” for a nomination for Best Picture, it WAS nominated for BEST PICTURE — the FIRST “super hero” film ever nominated.
And no one corrected the host who was CLEARLY wrong.
I’m tapping out. This was last of one too many moments where I’ve felt the hosts be condescendingly dismissive or just plain loud and wrong. Out of touch, out of step.
