Where hopefully your taxes are up to date today, although the way things are going with the Trump administration — I’m not sure we’re really even doing them anymore anyway. #NotTaxAdvice
BUT: While folks totally shouldn’t tamper with city property . . . if one was to do so . . . making Silicon Valley crosswalk posts play AI-generated voice messages from Zuck and Elon when you press for the light to change is not a bad way to go.
PAYDAY 🤑 SEASON: SIRIUSXM CEO Jennifer Witz cleared a cool $37M for her 2024 compensation package (mostly in stock and options), up from about $9M in 2023 when there was no stock component given.
Revenue, adj. EBITDA, free cash flow and paid subscribers were all down slightly YoY from FY23 to FY24.
ALAS: The L.A. Times AI “bias meter” on articles seems to have been short-lived . . . as it has not returned ever since it’s, uh, “KKK problem” last month, and now seems likely destined for the great journalism dustbin after its stellar 24 hours or so in the sun.
THEN: Based on the -10% disparity in foreign travelers entering the U.S. YoY in March alone — gotta think DISNEY and NBCU are really hoping more Americans are warming to the idea of summer in Florida this year.
AND: Women’s 3-on-3 hoops league UNRIVALED already signed UCONN star and future DALLAS WINGS player Paige Bueckers to a 3-year deal per ESPN, where she’ll make $350k in year 1.
She’ll make $79k in the WNBA this season as per league rules.
Bueckers already had a NIL deal with UNRIVALED while she was at UCONN this year.
YEAH: While maybe I’m not pinning this all on Steve . . . gotta say I’m with Kendall Baker from YAHOO Sports on this one (zoom in on each image to see the difference — note: The Masters bans cell phone use).
BTW: Just like the NFL season — the gambling sportsbooks yet again couldn’t seem to make money on Rory’s Masters win on Sunday (although he seemed to be just fine, taking home a $4.2M check).
