Mornin! This is Sean McNulty and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on TUESDAY March 8, 2022.
Where here are your 2022 ACM AWARD winners with… Morgan Wallen back on top 🤯. Yikes. Although just me or was this not very heavily promoted (outside of PRIME)… especially for the first major exclusively live-streaming music awards show, and first with a basically no commercials approach?
ALSO: Pam Anderson and Daniel Radcliffe are coming to BROADWAY! Sadly not together although - there’s a show I’d definitely pay to see.
Pam’s making her debut in “Chicago” starting April 12, and Daniel is technically going off-Broadway in a revival of Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” late this year.
AND: He’s ok! Taron Egerton gave the social media 👍 to fans from his Insta.
OTHERWISE: A pretty quiet day in Movies and Media so this should be quick.

AMC orders… another “Walking Dead” series
Called “Isle of the Dead”, will star Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan and take place in a NYC that has long been cut off from the mainland, and has created its own… unique universe. Oddly enough all of the empty restaurant outdoor dining sidewalk structures are still there. 🤷♂️
6 episodes, will air in 2023. /Deadline
DISNEY+ orders “The Muppets Mayhem” series starring Lilly Singh
Follows the Electric Mayhem Band as they make their first album, Lilly will play the label A&R exec.
10 episodes, will shoot this Spring, Adam F. Goldberg (“The Goldbergs”) is among the creative forces behind it. /THR
NETFLIX orders new SHONDALAND series “The Residence”
Described as a “screwball whodunnit” murder mystery set at the White House. Paul William Davies (“Scandal”) is the creator and showrunner. /THR

AMAZON TV exec Phoebe Zimmer leaves to be Head of TV at TEMPLE HILL Productions, who produces “Dave” at FX and the upcoming “Grease” series “Rise of the Pink Ladies” at PAR+. /Deadline

- ATLANTA FALCONS player Calvin Ridley tweeting his response to getting a 1 year suspension for being the first NFL player to be punished for online gambling on games.
It was while he was on leave in Nov to “focus on his mental health”. He’s now out $11 Million, with having time to focus on whatever he wants clearly no longer an issue.
