☀️VIOLENT NIGHT delivers but Box Office crashes to Q3-like lows
Specialty film market still non-existent / NETFLIX buys more big TV Ads / AMC austerity claims first Series victim
Mornin! This is Sean McNulty and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on MONDAY December 5, 2022.
Where NETFLIX definitely kept that Q4 Ad buy budget cranking this weekend…
The full “Harry & Meghan” teaser spot on “60 Minutes”
A teaser spot for (the trailer for) the Eddie Murphy - Jonah Hill pic “You People” from Kenya Barris on Sunday Night Football (avg price $800+k for 30 secs)
And a “Glass Onion” critics spot in “60 Minutes” as well… although that one had an FYC message so maybe it was just a local NYC Ad buy.
ALSO: “Harry & Meghan” dropped the full trailer this morning (link down below in the TRAILER HOUSE section), pt. 1 premieres Thurs, pt. 2 on Dec 15. So not exactly a “Stranger Things”-style delay (but also not one that goes into Q1… 👀).
AND: After NETFLIX canceled “Midnight Mass” last week, creator Mike Flanagan did what few creators actually do - he created a TUMBLR post as to what would have happened in a Season 2, and answered the pending questions from the end of Season 1. Well done Mike!
