Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on WEDNESDAY, March 13, 2024.

Where I’m just gonna start with a little mental health reminder — this time from the kids of America, as even they recognize taking a break from your phone makes you happier.

I’m generally not big on polls (this one was from PEW, and was only about 1,400 teens, conducted last fall), but just a little something to think about as you start your day: Maybe put your phone in another room for a while at a couple of points during the day.

Um, after you finish this newsletter on your phone, of course 😬.

PLUS: Beyonce’s new album, Cowboy Carter, will come out on March 29.

AND: It’s TIKTOK vote day in the House of Representatives. Obviously, still much more to come here, but if you’re really into the minutia — the NY Times' Dealbook laid out some bigger-picture aspects around China and the company’s investors at this stage (again, still a lotta “ifs” involved). As for the D.C. crowd, it sounds like most folks are centered on the Senate at this point.

THEN: Who knew there was so much money in “hydration”? First the big WWE deal, now this 👇 . . . which, according to the latest social media comments, is going over about as well as you’d think an image like this would. Even though this is the other Paul brother — gonna guess Mike Tyson is putting this up in his training gym as motivation.

IN THIS EDITION:

  • The NBA’s UTAH JAZZ released new D2C streaming numbers for this season that confirm troubling math for teams leaving the crumbling RSN business — a dive into the 💰 to understand the deficits afoot.

    • Plus, the latest in TV sports audience sizes this weekend, including continued big audiences for women’s college hoops.

  • Big new projects day at AMAZON, APPLE, A24 (sorry non-A companies), and limited series live at NETFLIX!

  • More theatrical release date changes and new additions, plus WB officially shifts theatrical pic to streaming, and much more.
