Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, October 12, 2025.
Where the new leader of CBS NEWS, who has zero experience in TV news, asked employees last week to essentially tell her, uh . . . what it is you people do here exactly, so she can “understand how you spend your working hours.”
But, I guess folks should be thankful they’re not being asked to also send in the 5 things they did last week 🤷♂️. Bari Weiss also asked employees for ideas on “what’s broken” and how to improve things at CBS NEWS.
This is all being done in the stated goal of making CBS NEWS “the most trusted and most consumed news source in the nation.” According to whom . . . is still TBD.
Responses are due back by Tuesday — just over 3 weeks out from the big “New PARAMOUNT details” day expected on November 6, which may likely come with large cuts.
