Transom: Jason Momoa Says Aloha to Apple
Plus: 'Ted Lasso' duo's new project; Kerry Washington's Hulu return; 'The Afterparty' afterlife
It sounds like See star Jason Momoa is heading back to Apple TV+ with his vision intact, as he’s poised to star in its one-hour drama Chief of War.
The limited series takes place around 1795 when the four major kingdoms of Hawaii were constantly in a state of war. Tired of bloodshed, legendary warrior Ka’iana left Maui’s army to live a peaceful life as a fisherman. However, he’s pulled back into battle when Seers, who have visions of the future, identify him as the one who will fulfill an ancient prophecy that will bring peace to all of Hawaii. Hawaii native Momoa is actually co-writing the series with fellow EP Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, while Doug Jung will serve as EP and showrunner. Other EPs include Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Francis Lawrence and Erik Holmberg.
