The Ankler Expands Into Music with 'Notable'
Covering the intersection of music and Hollywood, 'Notable' debuts with Maren Morris and Kris Bowers exclusively dissecting 'Kiss the Sky' from 'The Wild Robot'
The Ankler is launching Notable, a new music-focused newsletter. Written by seasoned music journalist Rob LeDonne, the newsletter will cover the intersection of music, Hollywood, and the film and music awards seasons.
Hitting inboxes on Fridays, Notable will deliver compelling insights into the worlds of music and filmed entertainment. The first edition on Dec. 6 will feature an exclusive interview with singer Maren Morris and composer Kris Bowers about their song, “Kiss the Sky,” from DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures’ The Wild Robot, which has grossed more than $320 million at the global box office. Upcoming editions will spotlight Grammy and Oscar nominees along with other top voices from the charts and awards season carpets.
New York-based LeDonne covers music, culture and entertainment, regularly contributing to publications including The New York Times, Esquire, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Billboard, The Guardian and The Observer. He’s profiled and interviewed artists and execs including Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ringo Starr, Andrea Bocelli, Clive Davis and Joan Baez. LeDonne is also a regular contributor to The Recording Academy’s Grammy.com.
“I’ve admired The Ankler's fresh and bold take on the industry, and I’m thrilled to help expand its voice into music," says LeDonne. “This is an incredible opportunity to conduct exactly the type of interviews I love to read: authentic conversations that toe the line between insightful and fun.”
“We’re extremely excited to broaden and enrich our editorial scope for our audience,” says Janice Min, CEO and editor-in-chief, Ankler Media. “Notable enhances The Ankler’s coverage by diving deep into the best stories and personalities that straddle Hollywood and music, giving our audience further access and insight into another corner of the entertainment landscape.”
