Welcome to the Jamboree, my weekly takes on the industry’s passing parade.

Last night, I attended the Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere premiere at the AFI Fest. After the film, who do you think stopped by, but Mr. The Boss Himself.

He regaled the crowd with two of his classics, including one that figures prominently in the film (“Atlantic City”), as well as some words about America’s current situation. The Boss, of course, is a fairly regular fixture in progressive movements and has been regularly sounding off about the Trump era.

He said earlier this year of the administration: “They are taking sadistic pleasure in the pain they inflict on loyal American workers.”

I’m enclosing videos of his performances, which definitely stirred the Hollywood crowd, but it also definitely had me wondering…
