☀️'Sonic' Wins🎄Season as 'Nosferatu' Scores Big
WB shuffles spring dates / Top BROADWAY VIDEO departure / Specialty's mixed holiday results
Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, December 29, 2024.
Where I’m honestly not exactly sure I remember what to put here when the GIANTS actually win a game (they previously lost 10 straight) . . . much less at home!
So, at least they didn’t go 0-8 at METLIFE Stadium this year. See ya in September, fellas. Or at least some of you. 🤌
AND: I really hope whichever POP-TARTS marketing agency exec came up with this now annual tradition at the POP-TARTS Bowl has their picture hung in a hallway somewhere at headquarters.
ALSO: I’m admittedly a sucker for these kinds of things, but fun to watch Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow surprise folks on the WB lot at “The Friends Couch”:
IN MEMORIAM
Some passings of note over the weekend:
Former President Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100.
Cable TV biz pioneer and CABLEVISION (now ALTICE) founder Charles “Chuck” Dolan died at the age of 98.
One of sports broadcasting’s best, Greg Gumbel, died at the age of 78 after a battle with cancer.
Filmmaker Charles Shyer (Father of the Bride, Baby Boom) died at the age of 83.
HOUSEKEEPING:
I’m finally going to go dark here for a bit, uh literally — not like in regards to gifs. So I’ll probably pop in around New Years but otherwise see ya back at the box office next Sunday. NY folk — enjoy your holiday Globes travel out west later this week.

Note: These are ranked by the traditional 3-day weekend numbers.
Weekends like this are why I love the movie business.
