Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on TUESDAY February 14, 2023.
Where I got you a Valentine! Ok fine it’s just a gif - but as anyone who knows me knows - it’s from my heart, which can be bought with pizza 🫶.
ALTHOUGH: How about the gift of Ted Lasso? It’ll premiere Wed March 15, to run alongside the early months of the MLS Season here in the US, and more importantly the peak of the Soccer season globally (Champions League culminates in early May). Here’s a promo video to announce it, including yet another new hair look for Jamie Tartt.
AND: RIRI’s SPOTIFY streams were +640% on Sunday vs. a week ago, which doesn’t go directly into her pocket, but sorta. No word on the FENTY cosmetics bump…
ALSO: The SUPERBOWL got 113 Million viewers in prelim #s, the 3rd highest game (and overall TV audience) ever. No word on The Last of Us numbers as of yet.
FOX said they got 7 Million digital viewers as well across cable-authenticated FOX & FOX DEPORTES viewers, NFL+ and other FOX ‘digital properties’ though I’m not exactly sure what that means.
PEACOCK and ‘other digital properties’ had 6 Million devices and got 11.2 Million viewers last year, so I’m not sure how that effects the digital champ here.
Next Level Chef got 15.5 Million viewers right after the game.
Last year NBC did THE OLYMPICS, and I think 15 Mil is the lowest number for a post-game series ever (these usually at least get 20 Million in recent years).
More details on the ‘winning’ spots down in the TV SET section.
PLUS: Tina & Amy… Fey & Poehler, they’re all going on a Restless Leg tour! The duo will play 4 dates together in Q2 (which I’m sure is how they describe it). Stories from 30 years of working together and more. Tix on sale Thurs here.
