☀️ PSKY's Latest Hail Mary Pass: What Changed, Shareholders React
DISNEY shuffles ’26 🎥 dates / RSN biz faces collapse. Again / AMAZON TNF hits new highs
Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Where I hope you’re all enjoying your extra 2 minutes of sunlight today. 😎
Personally, I’m pretty psyched I’ll no longer need to change my lighting setup for podcasts and TV hits at 4:30 p.m. as I lose brightness at my window once January gets here.
At the end of our last Ankler Agenda recording, Elaine Low was very concerned that I was disappearing faster than a 60 Minutes report on Trump administration policies. 🥁
AH: The 60 Minutes segment in question this weekend made its way online yesterday to . . . no one’s surprise, given that the decision to pull it was made so late that it was not edited from the version of the show that aired/streamed in Canada (it has since been removed online). The piece was also promoted here in a press release on Friday afternoon. I look forward to watching it in January when the additional reporting that Bari feels was necessary to finish it is completed.
WELL: Let the 2026 talent guild negotiations through the Penske trades begin (talks are not expected to officially begin until February). No word on whether anyone is being forced to buy a pop-up ad first.
The AMPTP is reportedly going to offer a $110M payment collectively to the WGA, DGA and SAG-AFTRA for their underfunded health insurance plans.
In return, the AMPTP may seek a 5-year deal instead of 3 years, as well as potentially a trim in insurance coverage.
Again, all first broad salvos launched in the way all trusted negotiations between 2 parties are built — by leaking your ideas to reporters to see how they fly.
WINDOWS WATCH: PAR is putting Regretting You on PAR+ today, just 2 months post-theatrical. The film hit PVOD after 1 month — both approaches are similar to what PAR did for Novocaine earlier this year.
AND: Ya gotta love the top artist on APPLE’s Christian Music chart and Billboard’s Gospel digital song sales chart not being . . . human. Yes, Solomon Ray is AI.
SO: If you want to understand the increasingly AI-backed maze of breaking through in the job application process at the dawn of 2026 — well, I suppose knowing how to trick the HR AI is a good indicator of having AI skills! Yikes.
Almost 50% of hiring managers were using AI to screen resumes, according to a recent survey of 1,000 folks in the field.
YAH: If for . . . uh, some reason you wanna know what you talked to CHATGPT the most about this year — OPENAI has ya covered.
YUP: Just as #BigTech is fighting for AI talent, COINBASE has bought the less-than-1-year-old prediction market CLEARING COMPANY, to add more in-house know-how for the predictions business COINBASE just launched.
YEAH: Gotta love GOOGLE suing a company (SERPAPI) for scraping / using its proprietary product (search) to improve its AI product. 🤌 Maybe GOOGLE should try just cutting a deal and making a $1B investment in the company instead?
KUDOS: To the NY KNICKS, whose head coach and top players gave a significant portion of their $530k NBA Cup winnings to the team’s support staff (PR, video production, medical personnel, etc.).
OH: The expected lawsuit to remove Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center has been filed.
PLUS: Saudi Arabia has topped last year’s record for executions . . . totaling 347 thus far (last year was 345), or basically 1 person every day — although the Saudi government does not kill people on Fridays or Saturdays. I’d comment here, but it’s just too fucking dark.
According to the U.K. campaign group REPRIEVE, which tracks the data, the families of the executed are usually not informed beforehand, given the body afterward, nor informed where the executed have been buried.
THEN: IHEART is adding a non-exclusive video component to its app for any podcaster to use.
HOHOHO: Moving my usual Tuesday job board up here for all readers today in the spirit of Christmas.

FINALLY: I’m also moving this Industry season 4 trailer to the top today from the daily TRAILER HOUSE section below. Kudos to HBO Marketing on a great spot. ⛳️👏 Well worth the wait for one of my favorite shows. PREMIERES JANUARY 11 (if you haven’t watched this show, it’s a great one for a holiday break binge).
WBD AUCTION: No, seriously — we’re good for it!
Yes, lest you thought PSKY would take a Sunday off in December (work-free Sundays are for millionaires, not billionaires) . . . yes, we had another trademark Monday morning PARAMOUNT announcement.
Although NETFLIX also got in on the Monday fun this time with some news (so competitive 🙄), as did a large WBD shareholder, so here’s what’s new . . . what’s really still the same, and the next steps ahead (yes, this is still going to spill over into all of January — at least).
