Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email meat seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Where I’m not saying the AI told APPLE to drop the “+” from APPLE TV+ . . . but I’m not saying it didn’t.

Either way — oh, the times we live in, where we can watch APPLE TV on an APPLE TV . . . and neither one is an actual APPLE TV. 📺

AND: SAG-AFTRA tailored a new contract to cover microdrama series with budgets under $300k (a significant portion of these productions).

THEN: Hopefully, you got one of the last TIVOs out there to place alongside your ZUNE — the company stopped selling DVR hardware on Oct. 1.

  • Its newest edition was released in 2019 with . . . 2TB of storage, so you can store a whole year’s worth of The Daily Show that you totally forgot about telling it to record.

PLUS: INSTAGRAM is now putting PG-13’ish content restrictions on the content that appears in the feeds of teenager accounts. Well, I guess starting to protect kids 13 years after widespread usage of an app began is better than 23 years?

FINALLY: If you’re at the DPAA conference today in NYC, I’ll be having a conversation with Dana & Christian, co-heads at WB PICTURES Marketing, at 3 p.m.
