Where finally, the American sports fan has been heard.
NBCU is raising WBD’s upcoming 3-on-3 women’s hoops league with a Par 3 night golf 🌚⛳️ league on PEACOCK (which is, uh, different than Tiger & Rory’s TGL indoor golf league with 4 team members each, launching in Jan. on ESPN).
So, make sure you’re there live for all the action from THE GRASS LEAGUE at 8 p.m. sharp on PEACOCK Dec. 6 (hope they don’t have Tyson/Paul-like buffering issues from the streaming traffic 🤞).
ALSO: COMCAST CEO Brian Roberts sold $20M of stock this week, following Iger selling $43M last week. Zaz — I’m not exactly sure what you’re getting in the Secret Santa pool this year . . . but it’s sounding pretty sweet so far.
BUT: Don’t you worry America, the Hollywood honchos are sharing their generosity with you as well! Here is your roundup of streaming service discount offers for Black Friday weekend (with HULU’s 1-year for $12 still the best IMO).
AND: Can I interest anyone in a $31 popcorn sarcophagus? Gotta love FOCUS giving it a go with Nosferatu — but when folks say movie theaters need to improve their experiences for patrons . . . not sure that’s what they have in mind.
KUDOS: To the NWSL ⚽️ for increasing attendance this year +6% to 11,250 on average. 4 of the women’s soccer league’s teams had more than 30% increases. The league added 2 teams this year, and each played 4 more regular season games.
AND: STATE FARM signed a NIL deal with USC hoops star JuJu Watkins, after being everywhere with Caitlin Clark last season.
WOW: This is just a crazy story showing how much of a joke college sports has become . . . with BARSTOOL founder Dave Portnoy teaming up with, uh, Larry Ellison (and Mrs. Ellison) to land MICHIGAN a new QB with a $10M to $12M payday NIL deal over 4 years.
PLUS: A study of about 9,000 English-language LinkedIn posts showed that about half were “likely” written by AI according to Wired. Way to keep it real, y’all (for the record — all of my posts are written by me, which is probably obvious from the writing).
