Where hopefully your household has come down from the euphoria of a new Bluey episode drop (which no, is not the last episode as previously feared).
Although for a relatively quiet sports weekend (gotta love FOX putting an intra-squad U OF MICHIGAN spring football game on national TV on Saturday afternoon 🥱), pro golf is really getting some great narratives to watch!
Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is likely to win his 4th ⛳️ tournament of 2024 tomorrow (the RBC Heritage got called for darkness on the 15th hole today, but he’s 5 shots ahead).
Plus, the next big female athlete to know is 25-year-old Nelly Korda, who won her 5th LPGA tournament in a row — and first LPGA major tournament of the year (there are 5) — at the Chevron Championship, netting a cool $1.2 Million. Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam are the only other two female golfers to win 5 straight, ever.
ALSO: WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert says Caitlin Clark could earn up to $500k this year in her contract, based on additional bonuses and stock grants, and not just her pre-determined $76k base salary.
PLUS: The newly passed Ukraine aid / TIKTOK forced-sale bill could come before the U.S. Senate as soon as Tuesday.
AND: TIKTOK’s general counsel Erich Anderson is already ✌️ out, announcing he’ll be leaving the company (date TBA).
TODAY IN UNIONS:
Sesame Workshop writers reached a tentative agreement to avoid a proposed strike this week.
Local 705 (Costumers) is the latest IATSE guild to reach a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. The IATSE Basic Agreement negotiations begin next Monday.
AND: Morgan Wallen released a statement this weekend saying, “I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”
Wait 🧐, is this in regards to partying and hooking up on camera days before an SNL appearance, just as it was just coming back to the studio after Covid . . . using the n-word after going on a 72-hour bender . . . or, no wait — sorry, it’s for throwing a chair off the roof of a 7-story Nashville building that landed 3 feet away from a pair of police officers on the street. Got it.
WAKEUP BOX-OFFICE POLL
The bears win out this weekend on Abigail! Honestly I’m a bit surprised on this one: I was with the $12M to $15M crew. Horror is taking a turn so far this year, as I break down further on today.
