Afternoon! #Medianerd 🤓 here is now working Mondays, as DISNEY joins PSKY in the Monday morning news cycle trend of 2026 (my vote for growing bangs got shot down). As always, connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com, grab a sandwich from the tray and let’s dive into what’s going on underneath the hood at DISNEY as it rounded out 2025.

Well, if there was any doubt about NETFLIX’s influence on Hollywood at this point, 2026 is certainly confirming it yet again. And no, it’s not because DISNEY announced co-CEOs (nothing was said about that this morning on the Q4 earnings call).

Although unlike NETFLIX’s H1 2022 surprise influence on the studio streaming business that induced The Great Hollywood Writedowns of 2023 — Hollywood studios seem to be enjoying the cover NETFLIX is now giving them to truly follow in its footsteps in turning off publicly reported data.

Basically — if you thought NETFLIX wasn’t telling us much anymore, DISNEY told Ted & Greg to hold its beer — although those co-CEOs are also coming for DISNEY’s King of Hollywood Profits crown. These latest numbers say a lot.
