Where the global recorded music business grew Revenues in 2022 +9% to $26.2 Billion… and I’d like to think my daily song choices at the bottom of each newsletter were a nice growth driver - so, you’re welcome Music.
OK FINE: Most of the increase was from paid Music Streaming service subscriber growth, a category whose 2022 Revenue was $12.7 Billion of the total (or 48%), and counted 589 Million paid subscribers to Music Streaming services globally in 2022.

AND: It’s now coming for DJ jobs. A company called FUTURI has launched RadioGPT according to Axios, which it says can do basic DJ things like deliver local headlines, weather, and introduce songs etc using an AI voice.
This is similar to something SPOTIFY introduced earlier this year as well. I totally have less than 2 years left doing this thing don’t I 🤦♂️. No one tell ChatGPT about ARPU mmmkay?
