Hello from Cannes! I’ve been here for the past three days, covering Mipcom, the TV sales convention/bellwether of the market held here every October, a less sexy (but far more lucrative) television counterpart to May’s film festival.

Today I’ll dive into topics including the gushing Middle East money I’m seeing here, which could be a reason for the lack of pronouncements so far about the Israel-Hamas war, as well as the new documentary gold rush on display, the opportunity for independent producers, the fallout of the strikes, and who is buying what TV shows where and what is in demand.

I talked to both buyers and sellers who explain the current market….
