SONY revisits 'Starship Troopers' / Reynolds' ad agency sold / SPC picks up Sundance pic
Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, March 16, 2025.
Where it’s NCAA March Madness bracket day! The men’s bracket is here, and the women’s is here.
Naturally, I’ll keep you posted what Rushfield’s expert picks are, although I personally do love to see AUBURN as a #1 seed.
PLUS: TMZ reports that there will be no MTV Movie & TV Awards for the 2nd year in a row.
AND: Assistants, if you thought getting the coffee order just right for your boss was challenging (is this non-fat whip!?) — try getting 76 coffees at once, like the RED SOX made a rookie do at spring training this month.
THEN: Very generous of Brian Roberts to give $125M of his fortune to support the CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA.
AH: 401(k) trading activity reached its highest point over the past 3 weeks since October 2020.
PLUS: Just a heads up for West Coast folks — another excellent 60 Minutes tonight to tune into on CBS.
FINALLY: This NYT story of a woman whose car crashed into a ditch after she nodded off while driving, and survived while trapped in the car for 6 days while hundreds of cars drove past her on the road above each day is both extraordinary and inspiring.
THE WAKEUP DOES CINEMACON + NAB 2025
Yes, Richard is bringing me under his wing to learn all about the latest in candy and sugar technology at the end of the month — I’ll be in Vegas for CINEMACON week Mar. 31 to Apr. 4 and for NAB the week after as well, so drop a note if you’d like to meet up IRL and not in my usual GIF form. seanmcnultynyc@gmail.com
