☀️BLUMHOUSE & McAvoy re-team for new thriller at UNI
Stallone sets first AMAZON pic / META's modest 2023 Ad Agency deal terms / NIELSEN gets major re-certification before Upfronts
Mornin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LinkedIn here if ya like), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on TUESDAY April 18, 2023.
Where it’s NETFLIX Q1 Earnings day… kicking off Q1 Earnings season, as the judge kicks off DOMINION’s case against FOX (whose Q1 Earnings call is not set yet).
Also uh, get those taxes in the mail.
AND: Harry Styles & Will Ferrell will be James Corden’s last guests on the Late Late Show next Friday.
ALSO: Jonathan Majors and his longtime management firm MANAGEMENT 360 have parted ways, following his PR firm THE LEDE COMPANY no longer repping the actor last month as well according to Deadline. He remains repped by his agency, WME.
Majors is expected to appear before an NYC judge on May 8 on the multiple counts of harassment and assault that are still pending, although redacted text messages between the involved parties suggesting another narrative potentially took place have already been released by his lawyer, so still more to come here.
NO WAY: WGA got 98% approval to strike in their vote. 79% of eligible voters voted. 0% surprise.
IN TODAY’S EDITION:
I think everyone was busy watching their delayed Love Is Blind special yesterday (or just waiting for the FOX NEWS trial start and NETFLIX call today).
So some new casting and renewal news to note, and flat is the new price increase at META - but this will be a quick one…
Although I am sharing my NETFLIX earnings call prep to refresh my mind on where we left off at NETFLIX at the end of 2022… and sharing is caring. Plus what they projected for Q1, and a fun flashback to the #funtimes on the Q1 call a year ago 😬.
