It’s time for Ankler Agenda and The Wakeup P.M.

Starting this week, Ankler Media will relaunch its flagship podcast as Ankler Agenda, hosted by Elaine Low, writer of the Series Business newsletter. Each week, Elaine will be joined by Ankler colleagues Sean McNulty of The Wakeup and Natalie Jarvey, author of Like & Subscribe, as well as other FOA (friends of The Ankler) and a variety of expert guests, as she breaks down the news and major forces shaping the industry — from massive studio mergers to pop culture phenomena like KPop Demon Hunters to the existential professional crisis facing Gen Xers and Gen Z alike.

The rebranded podcast debuts tonight at midnight.

“The Ankler already is essential reading in the entertainment community. Now I’m excited to lead the conversation in more formats as the industry undergoes an enormous transition,” says Elaine. “I’m also thrilled to have my smart and witty colleagues join me at the mic, and I’m looking forward to hitting that sweet spot of information and fun every week.”

The Ankler Agenda feed will also include Natalie’s Like & Subscribe’s coming monthly Substack Live video interviews with top names in the creator economy, and frequent interviews hosted by Elaine with studio and network executives, TV and film creatives and other business and entertainment authors and journalists.

But wait, there’s more! Sean McNulty’s essential daily morning newsletter is expanding into audio as The Wakeup P.M., set to debut this fall several times a week. The lineup will include short guest interviews, the kind of best-in-class news analysis Sean is known for, an on-demand version of Monday Morning Quarterbacks, Sean’s popular Substack Live show with Richard Rushfield.

“A lot of our readers start their mornings with The Wakeup, so adding an afternoon audio episode that captures the ‘of the moment’ nature of the newsletter felt like a natural next step,” said Sean. “All ideas on how to do gifs in podcast form are welcome!”

The launch of Ankler Agenda with Elaine Low follows the successful summer evolution of the Prestige Junkie podcast hosted by Katey Rich, Ankler Media’s weekly series focused on the TV and film awards races. This past July, the podcast launched a paid tier, Prestige Junkie After Party, offering listeners special membership exclusives that give them deeper behind-the-scenes access to Katey and deputy editor Christopher Rosen as they share their uncensored thoughts during awards season and at film festivals.

Ankler Media’s podcast expansion is led by Shana Naomi Krochmal, ADWEEK Audio Awards’ 2024 podcast executive of the year, who was previously head of digital at Entertainment Weekly. Carly Usdin, an award-winning creative and director, produces Ankler Agenda with Elaine Low.
