THEN: The president’s tirade speech on Wednesday did the best on FOX NEWS with 4.3M viewers in NIELSEN fast nationals, but nothing too impressive here on broadcast TV: CBS (3.9M), ABC (3.4M), NBC (2.3M) and FOX (2M).
Note that it was interrupting the planned Survivor season finale on CBS.
PLUS: I generally don’t place a lot in consumer sentiment polling (people tell you a lot more through their actual spending, IMO) — but I will say a 30-point drop in consumer economic sentiment YoY in December is undoubtedly striking.
This is before health insurance premiums, on average, double for about 20M Americans in January, as Congress called it a 2025 🤝 and broke for the holiday last week without doing anything to mitigate the situation.
Most of those folks getting their premiums doubled are in Republican-leaning voting districts.
