My first in a studio-by-studio series dissecting overall corp strategy in a sea of chaos

This is the first in a series I'll be doing with installments every few weeks, looking studio by studio and asking the simple question: What’s the Plan?
It occurred to me that much of the problem of talking about studios today is that we don’t know what they are after — the endgame if you will. Unlike the days when they all wanted nothing more than movies that made a lot of money at the box office and shows with high ratings, everybody is in this game for something different now. Some are so diversified, box office hardly matters; one has all its eggs in just one specific basket of the entertainment spectrum. Others might want to look nice and shiny for a buyer.
In this series, I'm going studio-by-studio to deliver what we never really talk about: each entity’s current raison d’être. These installments aren’t meant to evaluate whether the plans can/will/should succeed. Rather, this is an attempt to take a step back from that, to understand where the studios think they are going, to capture their own, shall we say, best case scenario. Quibbles can and will follow.
Today I start with the company that has everyone in town in a tizzy: Warner Bros. Discovery.
